Arsenal has one of their most disappointing seasons last year, as they ended up finishing 8th in the Premier League, couldn’t pick up any kind of silverware, and were knocked out of Europe very early. This is something that Arsenal fans have been very vocal about, especially towards the owners, and everyone to do with Arsenal football club will be looking to do better next year, but which players should they be looking at signing to improve this squad? We investigate their transfer targets below.

Martin Odegaard was one of the shining lights in the Arsenal squad last season, and although he was only on loan, Arsenal will be looking to make the move permeant. It has been reported that Odegaard could cost up to £60 million. Mikel Arteta has identified Odegaard as his number one target this summer, and with manager Zinedine Zidane in charge, this looked likely however with new manager Carlo Ancelotti coming in, it is likely that he’ll want to look at the whole squad before deciding who he is happy to leave.

Due to this transfer now not looking as likely as we thought it did at the beginning of the summer, Arsenal are now looking elsewhere for creative midfielders and James Maddison of Leicester City has cropped up in conversation and Arsenal has registered their interest. Arteta has informed the Arsenal board that he is a big fan of the Leicester City attacking midfielder who last season registered 11 goals and 10 assists across all competitions. However, Chelsea are also interested in the Englishman and is certainly a saga to watch this summer.
And finally, the last area in which Arsenal will be looking to strengthen this summer will be a centre back and England’s latest call up to their England squad Ben White has cropped up in conversation. Ever since his impressive loan spell at Leeds two seasons ago now, many Premier League clubs have been interested in White, and Brighton are willing to sell, but are firm on their £50 million valuation – however, with his age and potential, we think this might be a great signing for Arsenal.
