The Gunners are 14 points behind Chelsea and the manager has urged his side to show consistency until the end of the season if they are to have a chance of winning the league
Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal’s target remains the Premier League title, but admits his side will need to be “realistic” in their aims for this season.
The Gunners sit 14 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea but could narrow the gap slightly with a victory at home to Aston Villa on Sunday.
Wenger has urged his players to show consistency and aim for the top, but admits that their chances are slim.
“A title challenge is our target, but we have to be realistic,” the Arsenal manager told reporters.
“What we want is to win every game we can, but at the moment we are 14 points behind Chelsea, they need to lose five games, and they have lost only two until now.
“What we want to do is focus on our performances and show that we can produce consistent results. After, where we will finish, it is difficult to say.”
