The Gunners hero, who has announced his departure from the New York Red Bulls, spooks a few of his old club’s fans with some slightly unfortunate basketball merchandise
After announcing his departure from the New York Red Bulls, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry went into his old dressing-room to say goodbye to his team-mates and his choice of hat can be seen as somewhat controversial.
The 37-year-old Frenchman can be clearly seen wearing a pom-pom hat with ‘Spurs’ written over it in big letters – not exactly the best attire for someone whom Arsene Wenger described as an Arsenal man through and through.
Obviously his hat had nothing to do with the Gunners’ north London rivals, Tottenham, and all to do with NBA franchise the San Antonio Spurs — the team of his good friend, Tony Parker – but it’s nevertheless enough to make an Arsenal fan do a double take.
