Premier League Fans Vote on Whether Arsenal’s Invincibles Could Beat Man City’s Current Side

Premier League fans have been voting for who they believe would win in a match between Arsenal’s Invincibles and Manchester City’s current side.

The two sides went head to head on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League (well, the 2019 version of Arsenal at least) with City running out 3-0 winners. A brace from Kevin de Bruyne and a Raheem Sterling strike ensured Pep Guardiola’s men left north London with all three points.

Fans have been casting their votes in a poll for Virgin Media to help determine who would prevail in a battle between two of the best sides the Premier League has ever seen.

The results were certainly close, but it was the Invincibles who came out on top. They edged it, with 54% of voters opting to go with the only undefeated team in Premier League history.

The north London side, of course, went the 2003/04 Premier League campaign unbeaten and finished 11 points ahead of second-placed Chelsea. At the turn of the calendar year, Arsenal went on to record nine league wins in a row, helping cement their place at the top of the table.

The Invincibles finished that campaign with 26 wins and 12 draws. It was a remarkable season and one that will live long in the memory.

As for City, they are currently fighting to claim the league title for a third year in a row. Guardiola’s men became the only team in English top-flight history to reach 100 points in a single season when they won the title during the 2017/18 campaign. That season, they finished a whopping 19 points ahead of second-placed Manchester United.

The Sky Blues then retained their crown the following season, following a gripping title race with Liverpool. However, the Manchester-based side are currently 14 points behind their title rivals this season after 17 matches. Nonetheless, Guardiola will be keen to close the gap, while he will also be hoping to achieve Champions League glory with the club.

While voters have opted to go for the Invincibles, both sides will be remembered as two of the greatest teams in Premier League history.
