The Gunners midfielder has spoken of the positive attitude within the dressing room at the Emirates, and says the team are currently going into every match believing they will win
Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has spoken of the high confidence and self-belief emitting from the team due to the Gunners’ excellent recent run of form.
Since losing 2-1 to Chelsea in January, Arsenal have been on an outstanding run of only one defeat in nine games in the league, and have won their last four games since the defeat to neighbours Tottenham at the beginning of March.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed that the team’s positive mentality on the pitch is down to improved self-belief due to their current run of form – and the side go into every match believing they will win.
The 19-year old told the club’s official website: “When the team is winning, everyone is obviously more upbeat.
“We all want to win games and when you do the confidence and self-belief within the group rises.
“When you get on a winning streak, you start to go into games thinking that you are going to win – that is the self-belief you create.
“You know it will be a tough game, but once you have that winning mentality you really believe in yourself a lot more.
“It all oozes out on the pitch, the team’s play is a lot more positive and the attitude of the boys is more positive.
“The fans help as well but know we have to continue to work hard and hopefully that run can continue.”
Arsenal’s recent results mean they are 5th in the Premier League, only two points behind neighbours Tottenham who occupy the last Champions League spot, and have a game in hand.
