The Spanish left-back is has not travelled to Germany due to a back problem, while the 19-year-old is suffering from tonsillitis and is “50-50” to make Tuesday’s fixture
Nacho Monreal will miss Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday evening, while Calum Chambers is a doubt.
Arsene Wenger is already without Mathieu Debuchy after the right-back suffered an ankle injury during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City.
Monreal did not travel to Germany due to a back problem but is set to return for Saturday’s trip to Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Chambers, meanwhile, is suffering from tonsillitis and Wenger admits it is “50-50” whether the 19-year-old will be fit to face Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Should Chambers fail to recover in time, 19-year-old Hector Bellerin is expected to start at right-back.
When asked if his options at the back are stretched, Wenger replied: “In defence, yes, of course the Debuchy injury puts us in a position where we don’t want more. Hopefully we’ll have good news after his scan today.
“We have Chambers who can come in different positions, Monreal can play at centre-back, we have as well Bellerin, who I think is ready to play.”
