Kramer not thinking about Real Madrid, insists agent

The holding midfielder has been heavily linked with a move abroad but his representative says he is solely focused on the Bundesliga campaign

Christoph Kramer’s agent has insisted that the Germany international is not thinking about a transfer to Real Madrid and is focused on Borussia Monchengladbach for now.

The Gladbach midfielder, who is on loan from Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the 2014-15 season, has been heavily linked with Madrid, while Arsenal are also closely monitoring his situation.

However, the 23-year-old’s representative, Rene vom Bruch, has made it clear that a transfer abroad is not currently on their minds.

“Christoph is focused on Gladbach and has a contract with Leverkusen from this summer on,” Vom Bruch was quoted as saying by Bild .

“Real Madrid? We’re not thinking about that at the moment.”

Leverkusen director Rudi Voller remains unperturbed by the interest from foreign clubs and has little doubt that Kramer will return to his parent club at the end of the season.

“We are relaxed about all the rumours,” he said. “This situation is very clear to us.”

Kramer’s contract with Leverkusen runs until the summer of 2017.

The holding midfielder has been a key player for Monchengladbach this season, scoring once in 10 Bundesliga appearances, though his bizarre own goal cost his side a point against Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.
