Former Chelsea forward Kalou would 'love' Premier League return

The 27-year-old indicated he is still “crazy” about England’s top flight after his time at Stamford Bridge, while hinting he is uncertain about where he will play next season

Ex-Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou has admitted he would like to move back to England, with Arsenal thought to be interested in the player.

The 27-year-old joined Ligue 1 outfit Lille last summer after the Blues allowed his contract at Stamford Bridge to expire following a reduced first-team role of just 12 Premier League appearances during the campaign.

The Cote d’Ivoire international was linked with the Gunners – as well as the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle – when his time in west London ended, but the attacker opted for France and is said to be enjoying his time there.

However, fresh reports indicate Arsene Wenger could renew his interest this summer, and Kalou did not hold back when describing his fondness for a return to the Premier League.

“I’d love to go back to England,” The Sun quoted him as saying. “I spent six seasons there and I am crazy about the Premier League.

“Players’ careers change so quickly. You never know what will happen tomorrow.”

Kalou, who is under contract at Lille until 2016, has netted eight goals and three assists in 22 Ligue 1 appearances this season, and has also scored once in the Champions League and French Cup respectively.
