15:00 – ORNACLE SAYS NOOOOOO
As anticipated, Arsenal’s purported €100m bid for Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele has been comprehensively rubbished by BBC Sport’s David Ornstein.
Who’d have thunk it?
Reports of Arsenal bid for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele false. As previously reported incoming business completed a month ago. Were open to exceptional deal if chance arose (admire & have links to Dembele) but never realistic. #AFC optimistic on Ramsey contract but not close

Andre Gomes is having a medical alongside Yerry Mina in Barcelona ahead of @Everton move. He has a slight injury at the moment but not one that will scupper his loan move. Looking more like both deals will be done before the deadline

14:07 – ARSENAL SUBMIT €100m BID FOR OUSMANE DEMBELE
It just wouldn’t be deadline day without Arsenal submitting a no doubt fruitless bid for a highly rated Frenchman – think Thomas Lemar etc.
And Spanish Journalist Kike Marin reckons they’ve done it again, with the only issue being a) whether the 21-year-old wants to go… which he has said he doesn’t and b) whether Barca would accept the bid, which they surely wouldn’t. Other than that, it looks a goer…

The 24-year-old forward is highly rated by Steven Gerrard, but it looks like he could be off, as per these (cough) four lads who had a dream…
