The on-loan QPR striker does not want to complete permanent move to St James’ Park and has targeted Monaco, Arsenal and Tottenham as his next potential destination

Loic Remy has told Newcastle he does not intend to complete a permanent transfer to the club from QPR this summer.

The striker has scored 13 goals in 23 league appearances for Alan Pardew’s side and Newcastle want to make the transfer permanent.

But the 27-year-old is assessing his options and could be set for a return to Ligue 1 with Monaco showing interest in the France international.

North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal have also been linked with moves for Remy, with Spurs likely to confirm their interest with a summer bid for the striker.

Spurs scout Ian Broomfield is a big fan of Remy and previously recommended the club sign him from Olympique Marseille.

Remy is willing to wait until after the World Cup to decide his future but has no intention of returning to St James’ Park next season.

“He has had a fantastic time in Newcastle but the simple fact is Loic should be playing for a more competitive club,” a source close to the player told Goal.

Newcastle have been trying to convince Remy to stay at the club but are close to giving up, with Pardew drawing up a list of alternative summer targets including Romelu Lukaku.

Remy joined QPR from Marseille in January 2013 for £8 million but was unable to keep Harry Redknapp’s side in the Premier League despite scoring six goals in 14 matches.

The former Nice man is also a regular in the France squad and is expected to go to the World Cup in Brazil this summer.
