The Welshman is yet to fully recover from the thigh injury he suffered on Boxing Day and will miss this weekend’s meeting with Manuel Pellegrini’s title challengers
Aaron Ramsey will miss Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City this weekend, with manager Arsene Wenger keen not to rush the Welshman back from injury.
Ramsey has not played for the club since Boxing Day, when he injured his thigh during a 3-1 win over West Ham.
And Wenger has now revealed the Gunners need to “be patient” with the star – who scored 13 goals during the first half of the campaign – and has ruled him out of this weekend’s top of the table fixture.
“Ramsey is progressing well,” he told Arsenal’s official website, “but we need to be patient for a few more weeks.”
Wenger will also be without Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere, but the Frenchman acknowledges there is a need to restore belief when City travel to the Emirates following a week which has seen his side thumped 6-0 by Chelsea and held to a 2-2 draw by Swansea.
“We have to restore belief as well as we can and accept our position at the end of the season but, at the moment, our focus is to recover from a high disappointment and recover for the next game,” he said.
“It is a huge game.”
