The 26-year-old has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League and has been linked with a return to France, two years after signing from Ligue 1 outfit Lille
Arsenal forward Gervinho is the subject of interest from Marseille, the French club’s assistant coach has confirmed.
Franck Passi, No.2 to OM boss Elie Baup, revealed that the Ligue 1 outfit have identified the Ivory Coast international as the sort of skilful wide player who would suit them, along with Sporting Lisbon star Diego Capel.
He told Le 10 Sport: “This is a profile that interests us, yes. We want flank players, with dribbling, passing and scoring and Gervinho has this profile.”
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move back to former club Lille, two years after leaving them for the Emirates Stadium, as well as Turkish outfit Fenerbahce after a struggle to hit top form in a Gunners shirt.
Gervinho failed to impress in the Premier League in 2012-13, scoring five goals in only 18 league appearances, no better than his return from his debut season.
