The former Arsenal midfielder was over the moon with Barca’s successful league campaign and was satisfied with his role in the title win
Cesc Fabregas has voiced his delight with Barcelona’s Primera Division title win and has admitted that it’s his biggest success at club level of his career so far.
The Catalans were crowned La Liga champions on Saturday when second-place Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Espanyol and celebrated their success by beating Atletico Madrid 2-1 the following day.
“I’m very pleased that we won the title. It’s a dream come true for me and I’m very proud. It’s a very special moment. This is the most important title I’ve won at club level,” the former Arsenal man was quoted as saying on Barca’s official website.
“We would have suffered if we had given Madrid a chance to get back in the title race, but we won whenever they got close.”
The midfielder then went on to discuss his personal contribution to Barca’s title and admitted that he still has room for improvement.
“I’ve participated a lot in La Liga and that pleases me, I’ve played a lot of matches,” he added. “I have to improve, I need to be self-critical once the season ends, but I’m young and I can do it.”
The 26-year-old has netted 10 goals in 29 La Liga appearances this season.
