Juventus have slapped a price tag of around £29.4m on Arsenal and Tottenham target Dejan Kulusevski ahead of the upcoming January transfer window, according to reports (Daily Express, December 30).

Denis Zakaria has told Borussia Monchengladbach he will quit the club in the summer – with Arsenal already expressing an interest (The Sun, December 30).

Arsenal are reportedly the frontrunners to land Philippe Coutinho on loan next month, with the Barcelona outcast understood to prefer a move to the Emirates over their Premier League rivals (Daily Mail, December 29); Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly approved the pursuit of Barcelona playmaker Coutinho (Daily Mail, December 28); Coutinho has reportedly moved one step closer to joining Arsenal after Mikel Arteta gave the green light to pursue a transfer (Daily Mirror, December 28).

Arsenal are reportedly ‘ready to sell’ Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the January transfer window and already have two replacements eyed up – Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Daily Star, December 27); Arsenal and Tottenham are on red alert after Vlahovic reportedly turned down a lucrative contract offer from Fiorentina (The Sun, December 16); Aubameyang’s demotion as Arsenal captain has presented transfer chief Edu with even greater urgency to complete the signing of Vlahovic (Daily Express, December 16); Fiorentina would prefer to sell Vlahovic to the Premier League over striking a deal with Juventus in a major boost for Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City, it has emerged (Daily Express, December 6).

The latest players linked with an Arsenal exit

Arsenal are ready to grant Ainsley Maitland-Niles his wish of joining Roma with a loan deal agreed in principle (Daily Mail, January 5); Maitland-Niles is close to finalising a loan move to Roma, with the 24-year-old potentially travelling to the Italian capital as early as December 5 (Sky Sports, December 4); Maitland-Niles has reportedly agreed personal terms with Roma (The Sun, December 30); an agreement that would see Maitland-Niles go to Roma on loan until the end of the season, is getting closer. Roma need reinforcements, but have not budgeted to spend big this January, so loans are the main option (Sky Sports News, December 28).

Sophie Nicolaou from the Highbury Squad Podcast wonders whether Arsenal have a plan to bring in more midfielders as a loan move to Roma is looming for Ainsley Maitland-Niles. 

Brighton and Crystal Palace remain keen on Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah – and would like to sign him in this window if possible (The Sun, January 5); Bayer Leverkusen are keen to sign Nketiah on a pre-contract agreement (The Sun, January 2); Arsenal’s renewed interest in using Nketiah more frequently might not pay dividends with a January move to West Ham or Brighton still possible (Sun, December 24).

Arsenal will consider suitable offers for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with a January exit not ruled out for the striker (Sky Sports, January 4); Arsenal are touting Aubameyang around Europe’s leading clubs but fear having to sell him at a much lower value and that his £350,000 weekly wage might prove a barrier to any deal (Daily Mail, January 4); Newcastle want to sign Aubameyang on loan in January with a view to a £20m summer transfer (Daily Star, January 2); Newcastle are reportedly ‘in the mix’ for Aubameyang though the frozen-out Arsenal forward is believed to be eyeing up a different destination (Daily Star, December 28); Arsenal want to use next month’s Africa Cup of Nations as a period to reset relations with Aubameyang (The Sun, December 22).

Sead Kolasinac is set to leave Arsenal, with Marseille interested in the defender whose contract expires in the summer (Daily Mail, January 4); Watford’s search for a centre-back has also seen them look at Kolasinac (Daily Telegraph, December 22).

Arsenal centre-back Harry Clarke is set to be shipped out on loan to Hibernian after he was recalled from his spell at Ross County (the Sun, January 4).

Middlesbrough are one of a number of Sky Bet Championship clubs interested in taking Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun on loan (Sky Sports, January 1).
