The Gunners travel to Villa Park on Monday looking to avenge their opening-day defeat and regain top spot in the table following Chelsea’s win over Hull City on Saturday
Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs has urged his side to retain their title focus as they compete at the top of the Premier League.
After an opening-day defeat to Aston Villa, the Gunners won 14 of their next 19 league games to set the pace at the top of the table.
Arsenal travel to Villa Park looking to take their revenge on Monday and Gibbs has hailed a renewed sense of belief among the players and feels only a first piece of silverware in nearly nine years would satisy the squad.
“A trophy constitutes a successful season for Arsenal this year,” he is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
“There is certainly a belief. We’re in January and up there so we have to take that as a huge positive and behave like we are favourites.
“We have to remain positive. We’ve seen this season there are crazy results happening in the league.”
