The City centre-half netted a late header to seal a valuable point for Manuel Pellegrini’s side after Sergio Aguero’s opener was cancelled out by Jack Wilshere and Alexis Sanchez
Martin Demichelis’ late header helped Manchester City to a 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Danny Welbeck and Frank Lampard made their respective debuts, and the new Gunners striker saw his early effort come back off the post, with Aguero on hand to give City the lead on 28 minutes with a fine strike.
Arsene Wenger’s men found their feet in the second half as Jack Wilshere linked well with his midfield team-mates to bag the equaliser on 63 minutes, and Sanchez’ sumptuous finish brought the hosts into the lead just ten minutes later.
However, Martin Demichelis netted a late header for Manuel Pellegrini’s side to make it make it honours even at the Emirates.
